Bajaj Auto has confirmed that they will start the official deliveries of the KTM 390 Duke by the end of September. The motorcycle was launched in June for an introductory price of Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and has so far received 1500 bookings till date. The company has also confirmed that they aren’t looking the increase the price of the motorcycle. However, we expect the prices to go up in next few months due to depreciating value of the rupee.

At the time of booking, the dealers had quoted waiting period of 90 days. This period is expected to get even longer due to a 50 days strike by the bike maker’s Chakan plant workers over various issues. It is believed to have affected their overall production and sales.

The KTM 390 Duke ABS is powered by a 373cc single-cylinder engine that produces 43.5PS and 35Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and the motorcycle has a dry weight of just 145kg, offering excellent power to weight ratio of 300PS per tonne. 95 per cent of the components of the Duke 390 ABS are new and very fewer parts are shared with its smaller sibling, the Duke 200. The motorcycle has the capability to do 0-100kmph in 5 to 6 seconds and can reach a top speed of over 160kmph and gets the premium Metzeler tyres for better grip.
